What people in Huatulco have come
to know as the 5th avenue is taking
huge steps to its culmination. This
commercial street is going to join the
area of La Crucecita with that of Santa Cruz, having a beautiful walk way and shortening
the time to go to Santa Cruz beach from downtown. This commercial path will
increase the economy of the area
creating new opportunities for local
people as well as new attractions for
all of our visitors. It's planned to be
finished in 2011.

White water rafting is another
one of the eco-friendly activities
that Huatulco has to offer. It takes
place in the Copalita River and it's
fun and safe for people all ages.
Divided in several sections according
to people's skill, this activity can be enjoyed
by everyone all year round. There are different
companies offering this service
and most of them end the tour in Bocana
beach, where the river meets the ocean.
Here, you can enjoy delicious food in
one of the localrestaurants or just
relax on the beach while you watch
surfers ride magnificent waves.

The local hospital , known locally as the IMSS hospital is going through a huge expansion, when done will double the size of the existing structure. This is great news to all as the Huatulco General Hospital is already considered one of the best in the region. With the general hospital expansion , the recent opening of the Huatulco maternity hospital and the naval hospital here, Huatulco is
co-ordinating it´s healthcare offerings to keep up with the ever growing huatulco area.
